Sweet Things
I’m really happy to say that I’ll be a tiny part of an upcoming artshow in a californian gallery : Sweet Things Exhibition in Crewest. Here is press release made on the gallery’s blog : SWEET THINGS, on view from July 8th, 2010 through August 1st, 2010 and curated by INDIE 184 and Andrea von Bujdoss AKA “Queen Andrea”. Sweet Things is an all female urban art group show focusing on canvases, prints, photography, illustration and merchandise of emerging female urban artists, as well as legendary, internationally-recognized female artists. Explorations of graffiti, urban illustration, tattoo art, portraiture and fashion will be emphasized. Large, major paintings, smaller works, drawings and photography will live together. The opening night will feature live mural painting with characters, pieces and calligraphy by Curator Queen Andrea and Artist Muck alongside the popular DJ Phyz Ed, plus free giveaways from Kid Robot!. In conjunction with the exhibition, Crewest will feature an eye-popping installation by their July Featured Artist, Sherm.
Je suis vraiment heureuse de dire que je serais une infime partie de la prochaine exposition artistique d’une galerie californienne : Sweet Things à Crewest. Voici le communiqué de presse diffusé sur le blog de la galerie : Cette exposition aura lieu du 8 juillet jusqu’au 1er août 2010 et des artistes talentueuses telles que INDIE 184 et Andrea von Bujdoss AKA « Queen Andrea » y participeront. Sweet Things mettra sous les projecteurs des artistes urbaines féminines émergentes aussi bien que de légendaires artistes mondialement reconnues au travers de leurs tableaux, impressions, photos, illustrations et autres produits. La domaine du graffiti, d’illustrations urbaines, l’art du tatouage, de portraits ou de la mode seront mis en avant dans un mélange d’imposantes peintures, photographies, dessins et travaux plus modestes. Une peinture murale en live aura lieu à la soirée de vernissage (personnages, calligraphie par les artistes Queen Andrea et Muck) sur l’ambiance musicale qu’offrira le célèbre DJ Phyz Ed. Kid Robot offrira également des cadeaux au cours de la soirée. Conjointement à cette exposition, Crewest proposera une installation étonnante réalisée grâce à la collaboration de l’artiste vedette de la galerie en Juillet : Sherm.

Martha Cooper is a photojournalist specializing in art and anthropology. She is among the handful of photographers who methodically documented subway graffiti during the 1970s and 1980s.
Martha Cooper est une journaliste photo spécialisée dans l’art et l’anthropologie. Elle fait partie d’une poignée de photographes qui ont méthodiquement documenté le graffiti pendant les années 70 et 80.
Motel7 is a South African born, Norwegian Irish female graffiti artist. She has recently moved into the gallery world, after having her first solo show in Cape Town February 2009. She continues to paint in the streets, traveling as much as she can around the world. She has worked for brands such as Nike, puma, Reebok, HP and discovery channel.
Motel7, originaire d’Afrique du Sud est une artiste graffiti Norvégienne-Irlandaise. Depuis peu, elle a intégré le milieu des galeries, suite à sa première exposition solo à Cape Town en février 2009. Elle peint toujours dans la rue, voyageant autant que possible autour du monde. Elle a également travaillé avec des marques comme Nike, Puma, Reebok, HP, et la chaîne de découverte. 
Born in 1977, Koralie originates from Montpellier in Southern France. Today she lives and works in New York / USA. Koralie is inspired by the eccentric manga culture and to the images derived from traditional Japan like geisha. Her character is a graphic icon mixing sensuality and modesty, elegance and flashy colors.
Née en 1977, Koralie est originaire de Montpellier, une ville du sud de la France. Aujourd’hui, elle vit et travaille à New York. Elle est inspirée par la culture manga excentrique et par les geishas, figures traditionnelles du Japon. Son personnage est une icône graphique mixant la sensualité et la modestie, l’élégance et les couleurs flashys.
Mickey was born in 1970 in Groningen, Netherlands. At the age of 13 she started writing her names on walls and in 1985 she painted her first graffiti piece. Mickey finds herself fully in the four elements of Hip Hop: MC-ing, Graffiti writing, Breakdancing and DJ-ing.
Mickey est née en 1970 à Groningen aux Pays bas. A l’âge de 13, elle commence à écrire ses noms sur les murs et en 1985 elle peint sa première pièce graffiti. Mickey se retrouve dans les 4 éléments du Hip Hop : graffiti, Breakdance, Univers des DJs et MCs. 
French artist, now based in Montreal Canada, Klor is a co-founder of internationally renowned 123Klan, were the first to blend graffiti writing and graphic art on the web, making it not just an exhibition tool but a new creative medium. Her artistic talent has opened up exciting opportunities and enabled her to travel around the world with her husband, Scien.
Artiste française basée au Canada, Klor est une des co-fondatrices du mondialement connu 123Klan. Ils furent les premiers à mêler les lettrages graffiti et l’art graphique sur le web, le transformant non seulement en un moyen d’exposer mais aussi une nouveauté créative. Son talent artistique lui a ouvert d’attrayantes perspectives et lui a permis de voyager à travers le monde avec son mari Scien.
Andrea von Bujdoss AKA “Queen Andrea” is a native New Yorker who was raised in the vibrant Soho neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Andrea’s passion for urban art and graphic design surfaced at an early age. In the early 1990s, she began to learn graffiti history and developed important friendships and mentoring relationships with some of the most notable New York City old school graffiti writers.
Andrea von Bujdoss AKA « Queen Andrea » native de New York a été élevé dans le quartier vibrant de SoHo à Manhattan. La passion d’Andréa pour l’art urbain et le graphisme est apparu très tôt. Au début des années 90, elle commence à apprendre l’histoire du graffiti et développa d’importantes amitiés avec d’éminents graffeurs « old school » de NY.
Indie184 is a graffiti artist hailing from Washington Heights, New York City. Growing up all over NYC she began to participate in the graffiti culture in 2001. Determined to express herself to the world through art, she taught herself how to sew, paint and produce graphic design. She is known for her simple playful feminine graffiti style lettering.
Indie184 est une artiste graffiti qui provient des hauteurs de Washington, la ville de New York. En grandissant au milieu de NY, elle commence à participer à la culture graffiti en 2001. Déterminée à s’exprimer au monde à travers l’art, elle apprend elle même à coudre, peindre et créer des designs graphiques. Elle est connue pour le style gai et féminin de ses lettrages. 
Sherm is a graffiti artist, designer and artist from Los Angeles. While her roots are in graffiti, she has expanded her skills over the years into art, graphic and web design. Her artistic style is bold and organic and her subject matter is a combination of cute animals, feminine beauty, personal life experience, social commentary and general observation.
Sherm est une artiste graffiti et designer de Los Angeles. Bien que ses racines soient graffiti, elle a développé ses compétences au fil des années dans l’art, le graphisme et le design notamment dans le milieu internet. Son style assuré et organique ainsi que les sujets qu’elle choisit (animaux mignons, observation générale) dégagent une beauté féminine , un témoignage social et des expériences de vie personnelle.

That’s the latest furry creation from Happy Friandise’s hands ! An hungry monster who ate a soccer ball ! What a crazy idea ! Made in synthetic white long hair fabric, he has two dark eyes to observe you and some teeth ! His long ears are blue inside. La dernière création à poil sortie tout droit des mains d’Happy Friandise. Un monstre affamé qui à mangé un ballon de foot. Quelle idée folle ! Fait d’un tissu de longs poils blancs synthétiques, il a deux yeux noirs pour vous observer et des dents. Ses longues oreilles sont bleues à l’intérieur. Worldcup @crewest
Really soon will be the opening reception of « worldcup @ crewest » ! There will be a funny Happy Friandise’s plush made for the show which will take place at Crewest Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. You can find all the infos on the flyer. In a couple of days, come and discover some pictures of my latest creation.

Top of the dome 6
Here is my last furry creation exclusively made for the top of the dome show (6th edition) in Crewest Gallery (Los Angeles) ! Yes Again ! That’s because the crew is really great and very welcoming there ! So I like to work with them ! It’s the same artshow than Octocandy ! I painted my skull in a pastel shade of purple and I made him a hooded bear costume with cute ears ! It’s handmade with synthetic fur and velvet ! No animals were harmed for this creation ! www.crewest.com
Voici ma dernière création poilue faite exclusivement pour l’exposition Top of the Dome (6ème édition) dans la galerie Crewest (Los Angeles) ! Oui encore ! C’est parce que l’équipe est vraiment géniale et très accueillante là bas ! J’adore travailler avec eux ! C’est la même exposition que pour Octocandy ! J’ai peint le crâne dans une teinte violet pastel et je lui ai fait un costume d’ours à capuche avec de mignonnes petites oreilles ! Fait main, en fourrure synthétique et en velours rose ! I’m a green triangle-shaped . I have big feet. Made in felt, I have a huge eye and a eyebrow too.
And I’m blue and with my rounded shape and my big tired eye, I really need to find a peaceful home. I have my feet and I’m made with the same fabric than my brother.
I’m the elder of the family. I’m square shaped and grey. And my only eye is a little bit different from the one of my two brothers. There’s orange in it cause I have to protect my family and to look like a bad guy but actually I’m really nice. Je suis un triangle vert. J’ai de grands pieds. Fait en feutrine, j’ai un oeil énorme et son sourcil.
Moi, je suis bleu et avec ma forme arrondie et mon grand oeil fatigué, j’ai réellement besoin de trouver une maison reposante. J’ai des pieds aussi et je suis fait dans la même tissu que mon frère.
Je suis l’aîné de la famille. Je suis carré et gris. Et mon œil unique est un peu différent de celui de mes frères. Il est orange à l’intérieur car je dois protéger ma famille et paraître méchant mais en fait je suis vraiment sympa. Je suis fait en feutrine gris foncé, du coton orange et du simili-cuir argenté pour la paupière. www.genuineartikle.com

Hello ! I’m the tall green guy ! Let me introduce ourself ! We are two boys ! Yeah even the Pink one ! Don’t mess around his color ! He’s really sensitive about that subject.
We were made for an artshow which purpose was to recycle an empty spraycan and transform it into a piece of art. If you look closer you can see a tiny spraycan into the body of my friend and a big one for me ! I know my friend is really tiny besides his pink color ! I guess that explains why he’s always so angry ! And I’m tall, green and I’m wearing a denim’s shorts. The artshow tooks place in Crewest Gallery in Los Angeles.The wife’s owner fell in love with us so she decided to adopt us. From now on, we’re living with this really kind family !!!Thank you !

Salut ! Je suis le grand mec vert. Laissez moi nous présenter. Nous sommes deux garçons ! Oui oui même celui qui est rose ! Ne vous moquez pas de sa couleur ! Il est très sensible à ce sujet.
Nous avons été conçus pour une exposition dont l’objectif était de réutiliser des bombes de peinture vide afin de les transformer en pièces artisiques. Si vous y regardez de plus près, vous pourrez voir une toute petite bombe dans le corps de mon ami et une grande pour moi ! Je sais mon pote est tout petit en plus d’être rose ! Je suppose que ça explique pourquoi il est toujours si énervé. Et je suis grand, vert et je porte un short en jean. L’exposition a eu lieu dans la galerie Crewest à Los Angeles. La femme du propriétaire de la galerie est tombé amoureuse de nous et a décidé de nous adopter. Dorénavant, nous faisons partie de cette famille adorable. Merci !

Hi ! My name is Octocandy ! I was made for an artshow in a really great californian gallery. Crewest in Los Angeles.The purpose of this artshow is to celebrate el Dia De Los Muertos, each artist have to customize the same ceramic skull and create his or her own piece of art ! I truly love my little underwater world ! The artist Huit offered his hand for the painting on the skulls! I enjoyed so much the californian weather that I decided to settle down there ! Cette exposition à pour objectif de célébrer « Le Jour des Morts » mexicains, chaque artiste doit customiser le même crâne en céramique et créer sa propre oeuvre. J’aime vraiment mon petit monde sous-marin. L’artiste Huit a donné un coup de main pour la peinture du crâne. J’ai tellement apprécié le climat californien que j’ai choisi de m’y installer.
